The Senior Senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra (Regd.) expressed concern over the prevailing situation in the holy town of Katra in district Reasi.
The Forum place on record its stand regarding Gandola while discussing the issues concerning the senior citizens of the town in a meeting held here under the chairmanship of president, Shiv Kumar Sharma.
“The Forum firmly believes that the holy yatra is the lifeline of Katra and it holds religious, cultural and economic importance. Any development undertaken for the welfare and convenience of pilgrims may be welcomed, but it must be approached with constructive dialogue, mutual respect and democratic means,” said a statement issued by the Forum.
The Forum also condemned the use of ‘unparliamentary’ language during recent protest in the Katra town. The meeting clarified that recent press conference organised by the individuals senior citizens has no concern with Senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra.
Other agenda points of discussion during the meeting were Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Parikarama Yatra and an Eye camp at Bharti Vidhya Mandir School by Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur through the Forum.
