Commissioner Secretary,Industries and Commerce, Vikramjit Singh, today chaired the 14th Board ofDirectors (BoDs) meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization(JKTPO) here at Civil Secretariat.
The meeting was attendedby Secretary, Rural Development Department, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, who asone of the Directors of the organization, shared his valuable insights onvarious agenda items discussed in the meeting.
Khalid Jahangir, ManagingDirector, JKTPO, Mahmood Ahmad Shah, Director, Handicrafts & HandloomsDepartment, Kashmir, Tej Krishan Bhat, Special Secretary, AgricultureProduction and Farmers Welfare Association and Rakesh Kumar, AdditionalSecretary, Finance Department were among the Directors who attended themeeting.
Khalid Jahangir, presentedthe agenda for meeting and apprised the board of the action taken regardingprevious board decisions.
The Board discussed anddeliberated on various agenda items and approved the budget estimates for thefinancial year 2024-25 along with the action plan for the activities to beundertaken by the JKTPO. It also approved the calendar of events proposed byJKTPO for the financial year. In addition, the meeting approved variousactivities to promote the ODOP products of Jammu and Kashmir, being a flagshipinitiative.
Besides, some otherdirections and decisions were also conveyed by the Commissioner Secretaryregarding various activities being carried out by JKTPO, to bolster andstrengthen the organization's working.
The Board of Directorsappreciated the initiative taken by the JKTPO to generate revenue by chargingparticipation fee from the exhibitors. He also advised to further scale upmeasures to increase the quantum of revenue generation during the currentfinancial year. It also commended JKTPO for organizing the maiden Jammu TradeFair in February, 2024 wherein 104 exhibitors from various parts of Jammu andKashmir and Rajasthan, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand exhibited theirproducts.
Samita Sethi, Secretary inIndustries and Commerce Department, Rayaz Hussain, Director Finance, Industriesand Commerce Department, Tarsaim Kumar, Director Planning, Industries andCommerce, Sachin Dev Singh, Additional Secretary, representative from TourismDepartment, Dr. Ravi Bharti, Additional Secretary, representative from HigherEducation Department, Kulraj Singh, Joint Director, representative fromHandicrafts & Handlooms Department, Jammu, Vikas Goyal, CFO, representativefrom Export Promotion Council of Handicraft, representative from Carpet ExportPromotion Council besides officers and officials from JKTPO also attended themeeting.
