A vibrant group of students of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Law School, University of Jammu, spent a day with the elderly residents at Home for the Aged & Infirm (Vridh Ashram), Ambphalla.
The visiting group of around 45 students was led by Geetansh Thakur, president; Ansh Ranyal, Secretary; Harmannat Kour, office secretary; and Anirudha. They were joined by Amit Sadotra, president, ABVP JU; Jayavardhani Singh Parihar, secretary, JU; Sahil Thakur; Mahunagav, organising secretary; and Sunil Singh, secretary.
From Vridh Ashram, Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Secretary; Vijay Gupta, joint secretary; Satpal Sharma and Rajinder Singh, members of the Managing Committee; and Raghav Gupta, volunteer.
The students presented a series of soulful songs bringing back cherished memories of their past. The atmosphere turned profoundly emotional as some of the songs touched upon themes of love, separation, and the passage of time.
The students expressed that no comfort, luxury, or success in the world can ever surpass the love and blessings of one’s parents. They emphasized that even the greatest heaven imaginable pales in comparison to the warmth and sanctity of a parent’s presence.
Such initiatives reaffirm the belief that true service lies in empathy, understanding, and the ability to bring joy into the lives ofothers. The visit concluded with heartfelt gratitude on both sides, leaving behind memories that will be cherished for a long time.
