Huge participation of girls in DYSS Udhampur meet

UDHAMPUR: The inter-zonedistrict level under-19 girls sports meet at Udhampur, the Department of YouthServices and Sports (DYSS) received tremendous response from the schoolstudents with record participation in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Volleyballand Kabaddi at Sports Stadium, here.

The enthusiastic youngfemale participants were addressed by the district (DYSS) officer, Sawarn Singh,who informed about various initiatives being taken by the department in sportsat the school level.

 “I ensured that no budding player is left withouta kit, which resulted into huge participation from far off places of thedistrict. We need to catch talent young and to invest on it with the sole aimto expose them to the best of sports,” said Swaran Singh while interacting withthe teams.

 

Final Results:

KABADDI: Government HSSLandar beat HSS Khoon by seven points. The event officiated by the technicalpenal including Rakesh Modi, Pushap kumar, Rakesh Khajuria, Kulbushan Kumar, RamKumar and Sandeep verma.

 

VOLLEYBALL: In Volleyball,HSs Ramnagar emerged champion after they trounced Army Public School 3-1 in thefinal. Matches officiated by the Techincal penal comprising Kuldeep Sharma,Manik Nargotra, Suresh Pal, Sanjeev Verma, Vikrant Balgotra and Arti Kumari. 

 

KHO-KHO: In Kho-Kho, HSSSwena trounced Government HSS Keya 8-4 in the final. Technical penal: RajKumar, Raj Kumar Dogra, Raman Kumar, Rishi Sharma, Pooja Sharma and Jyotika. 

Among others present were AnitaGoswami,Som Dev Khajuria, Romesh Chander, Sanjeev Kumar, Jatin Sethi, VikasSharma, Sudesh Kumar, Bhoopinder Singh, Angrez Singh, Vipin Photra, GhaneemAkhter, Abdul Qadir, Sanjeev Khajuria, Karun Magotra  and Bal Singh (Medical Assistant).
