JAMMU, Dec 21: AtulInternational Taekwondo Academy (AITA) and Vishal Academy of Taekwondo were thejoint winners of the overall championship trophy in the 23rd JammuDistrict Taekwondo Championship held at Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha complex,here today.
Overall second place wentto RS Pura Taekwondo Club while Mahadev Taekwondo Club bagged the thirdposition considering the points earned out of medals won in various age andweight categories.
Best team trophy bagged byJammu Sanskriti School while active participation prize went to Academy ofUnity. Narayan Sharma was declared best Male athlete while Laxmi Salaria adjudgedbest female player of the event.
This championship was organizedby District Jammu Taekwondo Association under the aegis of J&K TaekwondoAssociation (JKTA), a recognised unit of the J&K Olympic Association(JKOA).
In the closing function, RoufAhmad Bhat (president, JKCSNGEU) was the chief guest, who was joined by jointsecretary of JKOA, Vikas Gupta.
Tarun Uppal (presidentNirbhay Bharat charitable trust), BS Jamwal (Retd DC), Arun Malhotra(International Football player) and Subash Shastri (president, NMSC) wereguests of honour.
Among special guests were JagjitSingh (gen secretary, JKTA), Ramesh Chander Sharma, (joint secretary JKTA), VikasAbrol, Gurinder Rakwal, Zaheer Abbas Khan (treasurer JKTA), Vikas Sharma, NazirKhan, Kapil Pangotra, Mitan Baru and Subodh Bhaseen.
The technical penal, ledby Atul Pangotra (International Referee), comprised Brinder Singh, ArvindSatti, Anchal Sharma, Rashmi Abrol, Narinder Sharma, Tarun Sharma, ShanazParveen, Kushagra Sharma, Achutam Dev Singh, Rahul Sharma, Bhanu Pratap Attri,Amit, Sunil Vaid and Nitish Anand.
