*On a visit to Male,Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla expressed hope that an IPL match canbe hosted in the country in near future.

 

NEW DELHI: India has beeninvolved in coaching cricketers and officials from Maldives. Coaching sessionsfor coaches and umpires have already taken place, and coaching of 30-membermen’s and women’s teams each will commence soon in Chennai. India is alsobuilding a cricket stadium on the island-nation.

India builds a22,000-seater cricket stadium in Maldives, under the USD 800 million Line ofCredit (LoC) that was extended to the country last year, according to theIndian Embassy in Maldives.

"A modern cricketstadium using the latest technology and a capacity to seat 22,000 spectatorswill also come up in Hulhumale under the USD 800 million LoC," it said inanother tweet.
