DDC Sheikh Nazirinaugurates Rajouri Volleyball meet

RAJOURI, Nov 18: DistrictDevelopment Commissioner, Rajouri, Sheikh Nazir Ahmed today declared open thetwo-day District Volleyball Championship at Government High School Palma, here.
The chief guest interactedwith the 16 participating teams, including four in girls section, and witnessedthe opening matches. He appreciated the district association, especiallyincharge Mohd Tariq for holding the competition on a regular basis thusproviding the rural youth needed platform to showcase their talent.
Among those who were presentin the opening function included Mohd Yousaf Lone, DYSSO Rajouri; SikanderParvaiz (Retd DYSSO), Sushma Rani (Headmaster) and Wali Mohd (ZPEO). Mohd Tariq,Incharge Rajouri District Volleyball Association presented vote of thanks.
This tournament is beingorganised by the Rajouri Volleyball Association under the aegis of volleyballassociation of J&K and sponsored by J&K Sports Council.
As per the results pouringin, semifinals line up has been drawn in boys section with Haricans ClubBagnoti, Darhal Club, Aisan Club and Choudhary Club Baglain qualifying for thelast four stages of the competition.
Today's matches officiatedby the technical penal comprising Khalid Hussain, Sadarat Hussain, Mohd Ayaz,Mohd Kabir, Mohd Jamil, Faiz ul Haq, Mashe Khajuria, Sharaz, Ibrar and SajadMujid.
The Results: League Round: Dangri bt Rajab Club 2-0 (25-19, 29-27); Baniya Clubbt Bagla Club-B 2-0 (25-22, 26-24); Haricans bt Ambedkar Club 2-0 (25-14, 25-21);Manjakote bt Rising Stars 2-0 (26-24, 25-23); Choudhary Club bt Manjakote 2-1 (29-27,19-25, 15-12), Ashan Club bt Dangri Club 2-0 (25-15, 25-11), Darhal Club btBaniya Club 2-0 (25-11, 25-13). GIRLS: Dangri club bt Palma 2-0 (25-16, 25-19).
