With 2 gold JKP improves medal tally in Pencak Silat

Hosts Jammu and Kashmir medaltally in the discipline of Pencak Silat gone up to three, including two goldwon today in the ongoing 10th All India Police Games Judo Clusterbeing organised under the banner of All India Police Sports Control Board atSKISC, here.

The first gold in PencakSilat came in performing events of Regu team and Ganda team. The Regu teamincluded Muneer Ahmad, Mohd Iqbal Malik and Rameez Ahmad Mir. Second place inRegu bagged by Tamil Nadu while Rajasthan and Assam Rifles were at third place.

In Ganda the gold won bythe team of duo Adil Ahmad Bhat and Showkat Ahmad Lone. The second place inthis event went to Karnataka while Orisha and Assa Rifles finished third.

Other Results: Regu Women:  Uttar Pradesh, Gold; Tamil Nadu, Silver;Rajasthan and Maharashtra, Bronze. Ganda Women: Chandigarh, Gold; Tamil Nadu,Silver; Punjab and Orisha, Bronze.

 

No J&K Police team inKarate

The two-day Karatecompetition concluded today with ITBP and CRPF closely poised for the overall championshiptrophy considering the medals won by the teams. Important to mention here thathosts J&K Police could not field its team in Karate discipline.

Judo meet starts Saturday

The competition in Judoshall start tomorrow morning at SKISC while the Taekwondo event shall be heldat Indoor Complex, Polo Ground. Earlier, during the day, weigh in took placefor both the events at the respective venues under the guidance of technicalpenal constituted for the purpose.
