For her title win in the 3^rdSmart Girls Open Chess event, the rising star, Avni Sharma was felicitated by hercoach, Vivek Bharti at Vivek Chess Academy, here.

Avni has gained controlover the Chess moves in a very short span of time and has showed consistency inher performance in last couple of month.

Started learning the Chessin April last year, 16-year old Avni, who is a 11^th standard Sciencestudent, has already won a couple of local events because of her efforts anddevotion to the game.

“Avni is the rising starof J&K, she won the best women prize in the Republic Cup last month andfinished second in the 2^nd edition of the Smart Girls event andearned the under-17 girls title. She has gained the control over her moves in veryshort span of time,” said Vivek.

“And, now she defeated arated opponent and her senior, Amrita to bag the title trophy of the 3^rdSmart Girls Open Chess Tournament,” he added.
