As a part of its efforts to tap the talent at the grass roots level and to prepare a competitive J&K team for the Asian Kids Sport Climbing Competition, Tawi Trekkers J&K today organized first of the series of mass sport climbing events in collaboration with Sprawling Buds ICSE School Bantalab, here.
The competition, aimed at kids, took place at Tenzing Norgay Sport Climbing Wall within Sprawling Buds ICSE School campus with encouraging participation of 380 young boys and girls from various educational institutions and clubs, a handout issued by Tawi Trekkers here today informed.
Besides the host school, the prominent participation was from St Xavier Convent Sr Sec School Bantalab, Shiksha Niketan Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar Jammu, J K Montessorie Hr Sec School Talab Tillo, SOS Hermann Gmeiner School, Gole Gujral, Shangrilla Public School, Sarwal, Stephens International Public School, Miran Sahib; Elite Public High School, Udheywala, Shastri Memorial Hr Sec School, Patoli, Shri Ram Universal School Jakh Samba.
Earlier, the competition was inaugurated by the Chairman of Sprawling Buds ICSE School and patron of Tawi Trekkers, Rahul Sharma in the presence of Sumit Khajuria, president; Shawetica Khajuria, working president; Arti Sharma, senior vice president; Sonam Sidharth, general secretary; Shashi Kant, treasurer and senior member Amit Khajuria.
To encouraged thosetalented participants, Tawi Trekkers organized a special prize distribution function.
The Results: Kids Girls: Ayaana Bhagat(BSF School), Ist Ayesha Tabir and Khanand Raneem (both Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab), Ist and 2nd respectively. KidsBoys: Hashvir and Yashvir (both Sprawling Buds), Ist and 2nd respectively; Atif Kareem (St Xavier Sr, Sc School Bantalab), 3rd. Junior Girls: Aaradhya (Sprawling Buds), Ist; Sanchi Sharma (St Xavier Sr Sec School), 2nd and Neetika Mehra (Shri Ram Universal School, Jakh, Samba), 3rd. Junior Boys: Rudra Rajput and Ayush Singh (both Sprawling Buds), Ist and 2nd respectively; Uplaksh Choudhary (Shri Ram Universal School), 3rd.
