Surinder Gupta, Ruby Kumari and Prajanya won open, under-13 and under-10 titles respectively in the monthly VCA Chess Tournament, held here today.

In this day-long tournament, which played within the Academy players, top four players in each category contested straightway in the semifinals.

The open category title bagged by Surinder Gupta while second place went to Aarav Gupta and Avni finished third.  Similarly in under-13 age group, Rubywon the first prize and the second place went to Gaurav Kumar while Triyansh Verma finished third.  In under-10 category, Prajanya won the first prize.

Prominent Jyotish Acharya, Pawan Kumar was the chief guest, who felicitated the winners and gave away prizes worth Rs 3200 and title trophies in the presence of coach, Vivek Bharti.

The chief guest encouraged those young players to work hard and excel at the National stage. The competition held with points system and toppers reached the semifinals.
