Surinder, Amrita, Nitika, Prince win AVNI Cup Chess Competition

Prominent chess learning facility of Jammu, Vivek Chess Academy (VCA) today organised final round of the month-long AVNI Cup Chess competition, here today.

The final day of this prolonged competition, which held today, top two players of each category fought for the final this afternoon.

A total of 24 players in all participated and contested for the top honours in their respective group. “There was a points system based on performance of each player for each open and VCA tournaments of January, 2026. Players with top points made it to the Finals,”informed coach, Vivek Bharti.

A total of cash Rs. 2500 and medals were presented to the winners by the coach himself as a token of encouragement and appreciation. In the Open category Surinder Gupta beat Ishaan to emerge overall winner and received a cash prize of Rs. 1000. Amrita Gupta outplayed Avni in the women category to be get best women prize Rs. 500.

Similarly, Nitika bagged the under-13 prize for being best in this group after she defeated Ruby. She got Rs 500 cash prize.  In under-10 age group, Prince beat Raesha to receive a prize Rs. 500.
