Shambhavi, Chitra guide J&K to 7-wkt win over TN

: In a brilliant display of batting, promising Shambhavi Rajput smashed an unbeaten 81 and talented Chitra Singh Jamwal blazed 71 as Jammu and Kashmir defeated Tamil Nadu by seven wickets in the Senior Women's One-Day Trophy at ACA Stadium, Barsapara, today.

As per the reports reaching  here, chasing a challenging 237, J&K'stop order fired on all cylinders. Shambhavi ‘s 81 not out off 98 balls including eight fours guided the chase while Chitra made 71 with the help of five boundaries.

Opener Bawaandeep Kaur (35)laid the foundation and Rubia Syed accelerated with a brisk 38 (36 balls, three fours, two sixes) to help the side chase the target in 49.1 overs losing threewickets.

Tamil Nadu's S. Anusha,Nida Rehman, and Sarthi Priya shared the wickets.

Earlier, invited to bat,Tamil Nadu posted 237 for six in 50 overs. Arshi Choudhary led with a classy 80, supported by N.S. Subhaharini's 67 and Roshini's 41. J&K's bowlers struck back effectively, with Bismah Hassan and Mahika Singh Rana taking two wickets each.

Shubham’s 60 help J&K make 194 in Ranji QFs

Patient 60 runs innings from opening batman, Shubham Khajuria today helped J&K make 194 runs in their first innings against Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy Quarterfinals  at Holkar Stadium in Indore.

In reply, MP scored 28 runs without loss at the end of day-one play. Earlier, MP won the toss and opted to field. The hosts succeeded in their planning of restricting J&K to a modest total.

Shubham Khajuria anchored the effort with a sensible knock of 60 off 140 balls (6x4), while Yudhvir Singh showed his confidence making quick 41 runs off 35 deliveries hitting three boundaries and as many sixes. Skipper Paras Dogra turned out to be a savour contributing 33 runs off 91 balls and Abdul Samad and Vanshaj Sharma added 16 runs each.

Kuldeep Sen was the most successful bowler from MP with five for 66 in 15 overs. Kumar Kartikeya Singh and Aryan Pandey bagged three and two wickets respectively.

Later, MP played cautiously making 28 runs with all 10 wickets intact. Yash Dubey (14) and Harsh Gawli (eight) saw MP through to stumps without alarm. J&K's innings was a tale of steady collapse, with wickets tumbling at regular intervals.
