The Sub-DivisionalMagistrate (SDM) R S Pura, Anuradha Thakur appreciated the Department of YouthServices and Sports (DYSS) for the initiative of holding refresher course forits technical officiated engaged with the athletes at the school level.

The SDM was interactingwith the participants and the officials from five different zones of districtJammu during the valedictory of the week-long refresher course held for the PhysicalEducation Teachers (PETs) at Bana Singh Stadium, R S Pura, near here.

The initiative of the DYSSbrought together PETs from local government schools to enhance their skills andknowledge, enabling them to promote sports and fitness more effectively.

"Physical educationplays a pivotal role in shaping the overall development of students, fosteringdiscipline, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles," she the SDM.

She encouraged theparticipants to inspire young minds to adopt sports and fitness as a way oflife, contributing to a healthier and more vibrant community.

Earlier, Zonal PhysicalEducation Officer (ZPEO), Umesh Anand highlighted the department's efforts topromote sports and fitness in the region. He said that the event covered moderntraining techniques, fitness activities, and innovative approaches to engagestudents in sports.
