Involving around 35schools with around 500 participation of young boys and girls, the Rope Skipping Association of Jammu and Kashmir conducted Rope Skipping Gold Cup, an inter-school event at JP World School, here.
As per a handout issued by the Association here today young and budding talent exposed to the techniques of the fast game of rope skipping.
International Delhi Public School Akhnoor emerged as the overall winner and received a cash prize of ₹10,000.Vishwa Bharti School secured second position to receive ₹7,500 cash prize, while Shangrilla Public School finished third to get Rs ₹5,000 cash prize.
The top five best skippers were Kanika Sharma, Kartik Saini, Aditya Morya Singh Jamwal, Prince Mehra andHarsh Kumar.
Two star skippers Kaashvi Gupta and Krish Mehra were also felicitated
In the valedictory function, Dushyant Sharma, Commandant, IR 15th Battalion and president of J&K Olympic Association was the chief guest, who appreciated the efforts being made to promote Rope Skipping in the region.
Guests of honour Sankalp Kamal, Managing Director JK Public School Kathua; Manjit Singh, chairman Kalarippayattu Association of J&K; Neetu Bali, founder Sunder Gems and Jewels; KC S Mehta, working president Rope Skipping Association of J&K and Panna Manhas Choudhary, chairperson JP World School were guests of honour.
Among the special guests were Vinay Khajuria, Principal IDPS Akhnoor; Aparana Kohli, Principal, JP World School; Ashutosh Sharma, secretary Kreeda Bharti J&K; Harmohinder Singh DySP J&K Police; TP Singh and Tarsem Sharma, treasurer RSFI.
