Record participation in SAI STC Bicycle Day event

The Fit India World Bicycle Day event, which was organized by Sports Authority of India (SAI)Sports Training Centre (STC) Jammu at MA Stadium, here today, attracted a encouraging and record participation of around 400 cycling enthusiasts from the city and its outskirts.

Besides professional cyclists, members of the cycling clubs, sports associations and different sports identities as also teams from the belt forces took part in the event.

While those senior participants with complete cycling kits had a round of the city roads upto Beli Charana(Fourth bridge), those youngsters were allowed had to peddle within the MA Stadium Complex, here.

Earlier, the event was declared open by the special guest, Major Rajat Sharma (OIC Legal Cell J&K)in the presence of SAI STC Jammu Incharge and senior Badminton coach, Touseef Ahmed.

“It was the highest participated event of the STC Jammu in the recent past wherein around 400 cycling enthusiasts took part. The event was aimed at promoting fitness, healthy living, cycling culture and environment sustainability in line with vision Fit India Movement,” said Touseef Ahmed.

The event witnessed livedemonstrations of the ‘Rope Skipping’ and Yoga by the teams deputed by theconcerned sports associations.

On the occasion, SAI STC felicitated those outstanding athletes including Unnati Jaral, Suryansh Singh, Azrath Wangoo, Jiya Manhas, Rudra Pratap Singh and Hitanya Mahajan.

Representatives of various participating associations were also felicitated for their active participation and support to the event.
