: A cool, composed and focused, young Rajyavardhan Singh has a lot to do in the mind game of Chess. The way he is playing at this young age,he has long way to go.
With all the necessary support from the parents, especially from his father, who encourages him to the fast growing sport in J&K, Rajyavardhan has started giving results in the domestic competitions.
A fifth standard student of Perfect Foundation Public School in Janipur area of Jammu city, Rajyavardhan made a modest beginning in chess two years ago.
He is already winning the titles in his age group of under-11 and has attracted the attention of those associated with Chess in J&K.
Rajyavardhan has already won the Jammu District title and later finished second in the J&K UT level event in the under-14 age category of boys held under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS).
“I have seen him playing in a couple of events recently. He is quite focused while taking on his better rated opponents at the crucial stages of the games. He has the potential to grow and excel at the National stage,” said chief coach at VCA, Vivek Bharti.
