Quarterfinals line-up has been drawn with eight teams spotted for the next round of the competition in the ongoing
J&K UT Men Hockey Championship, organized by Hockey J&K at KK Hakku Stadium, here today.
Now, the technical team has scheduled all four last eight stages matches for tomorrow to pave the way for semifinals.
During the day, SP Jammu South, Dr. Ajay Sharma was special guest, who interacted with the teams and officials. He witnessed the match played between J&K Police and district Pulwama. Rajiv Sharma, patron in chief of Hockey J&K and general secretary, Dr Taran Singh were among others present.
The visiting guest encouraged the participants and asked them to work hard to achieve the goals set in life. During interactions, Dr. Taran Singh informed that all out efforts were being made to take Hockey in J&K to new heights.
Earlier, the third day ofthe championship witnessed three matches. In the first match, J&K Police defeated district Pulwama 9-0. Arunpreet Singh (8th and 29th)and Hardeep (27th and 47th) scored two goals each while Karanjit Singh ( Ist minute), Ali Mohd Khan (6th), Gagandeep Singh, Balbir Singh and Ishtiaq Ahmad were other goal scorers.
The second scheduled match for today won by District Baramulla beating Kulgam 17-0 while Poonch made it a9-0 win against Ganderbal in other match of the day.
FIXTURE:Quarterfinals: Jammu North v/s Anantnag at 10.30 am; J&K Police V/S Baramulla at 12.00 noon; Jammu West V/S Kathua at 2.30 pm; Jammu South V/S Poonch at 4 pm.
