The combined side of (PG) Departments of University of Jammu (JU) won the annual inter-college Hockey tournament, which was organised by the Directorate of Sports, JU at K K Hakhu Stadium, here today.
In the final, PG JU defeated Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua 6-3 via tie-breaker. In the stipulated time the match ended in a 3-3 draw forcing the final to be decided through penalty shoot out.
The title trophy was presented by Director Sports JU, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba in the presence of Prof.Shivani Kotwal, Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, Dr. Mahak, Harinderpal Singh,Ravinder Singh and Rishiv Sharma.
The final was officiated by Karanjit Singh, Koushal Sharma, Harvinder Singh, and P.D. Singh (event incharge).
Kho-Kho meet begins
JAMMU: Part of the annual calendar of activities of JU, the inter-college Kho-Kho (men) competition started today on the campus grounds, here today.
The Results (Preliminary Round): GDC Paloura beat GDC Reasi by two points; GDC Doda beat Dogra Degree College by 14 points; GDC Doda beat UIET Kathua by eight points;GDC R S Pura beat GDC Paloura by one point.
The technical penal in today’s matches included Anil Sharma, Ajay Gupta, Dheeraj Sharma, Palbinder Singh,Pooja Sharma and Gagan Kumar.
