To support the 100 days campaign initiated by the LG Manoj Sinha at the district level, the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) organizing sports events in the disciplines of Cricket, Volleyball and Football involving student of two age groups ofunder-17 and under-19.

After completing the activities at the district level, the Department today started the competition at the UT level with inter-district tournament ‘Leagues of Classic’.

While the Volleyball eventis being hosted by district Udhampur, Football and Cricket is being held atJammu and Rajouri respectively under the guidance of Director General, DYSS, Anuradha Gupta.

At district Jammu, the under-17boys Football event was declared open at Synthetic Turf of Khel Gaon in Nagrotaby district (DYSS) officer, Sukhdev Raj Sharma.

The Results: Rajouri beat Ramban8-0; Kupwara beat Baramulla 4-01; Jammu beat Anantnag 4-1; Budgam beat Pulwama 2-1.

UDHAMPUR: The four-day volleyball event in under-19 boys’ category got underway at Udhampur involving participants from 18 districts of the Union Territory.

The event was inaugurated by ADGP SKPA, Garib Dass, who was chief guest. Amrit Pal Singh, SSP Udhampur; Manoj Kumar, Second Commandant, 137 Bn CRPF, and Subash Chander Gupta, Chief Education Officer, Udhampur, attended as special guests. Other distinguished guests present were Manoj Kumar, Principal; Sandeep Bhat, JKPS, ASP Udhampur and Ashok Padha, president, District Volleyball Association Udhampur.

The Results: Udhampur bt Srinagar 3–2; Poonch bt Reasi 3–0.
