Narrrow 2-run win for J&K women in U-15

A brilliant teamwork helped J&K beat formidable Uttarakhand narrowly by two runs in a match of the Women's U-15 One-Day Tournament at VCA Kalamna today.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, J&K made 122 runs for nine wickets in allotted 35 overs. Gurkirat Kour led the charge contributing 24 runs while Dhanya Sharma (21), Gaurangi Sharma (16), and skipper Shweta Rana (13) were other batters to touch the double figure mark.

Uttarakhand's Sonakshi was most successful bowler with three wickets, while Shiksha Kohli took two.

Chasing a target of 123 runs, Uttarakhand fell short at 120 in 34.5 overs when the side lost the last wicket. Kavleen top-scored with 25, supported by Sonakshi (20) and VedikaAhlawat (15).

J&K's Manvi Sharma bowled brilliant spell taking three wickets for 19 runs in 6.5 overs. Skipper Shweta Rana grabbed two wickets. Sonakshi Sharma, Dhanya Sharma, and Gurkirat Kour chipped in with one each.

The J&K squad travelled under the guidance of former First-Class cricketer, Amit Pal Singh as Head Coach.

Meanwhile, Brig Anil Gupta,JKCA Member Administration, praised the young women and support staff for the performance.
