Unbeaten Mitansh Magotra (6.5pts) bagged the title trophy of the 6th Open Khelo Jammu Tournament for Late Tara Krishan Memorial Chess Trophy, which was organized by the Vivek Chess Academy (VCA), here.
The event, which carried Rs5,000 cash prize donated by the family of Late Tara Krishan, involved 26 young players around the city.
Second place went to Lakshya Chowdhary (5.5 pts) while Amrita Gupta (5.5 pts) finished third among the mainprize winners.
In under-nine age group, Vihaan Sharma won the title and the under-11 title secured by Naisha Handoo after she defeated Triyansh in tie-break.
Later, the winners presented the title trophies, medals, cash prizes and certificates of merit by the chief guest, Praduman Gupta in the presence of son of late Tara Krishan, Raman Gupta and director of VCA, Vivek Bharti.
Stuti Gupta, Senior National Arbiter was the chief Arbiter in the tournament, who conducted the event using Swiss software for pairing.
