MA Sports Club wins opening tie in Kabaddi Gold Cup

The MA Sports Club won theopening match of the Kabaddi Gold Cup under-23 boys tournament, organized bythe Arun Sharma Sports and Social Welfare Trust in collaboration with J&KAmateur Kabaddi Association, Kreeda Bharati J&K and J&K Sports Councilat Kabaddi arena, MA Stadium, here today.

In the inaugural match, MASports Club made it a nine-point victory against Shield Sports Club beatinglatter 47-38 in an interesting contest, which was witnessed by the distinguishedguests.

Earlier, the event wasdeclared open by Secretary J&K Sports Council (JKSC), Nuzhat Gul amidstinteraction with the participating teams and members of the organizing committeeand visiting guests.

Being organized inconnection with birth anniversary of Arun Sharma, former Sports Officer andcelebrity Handball coach of J&K, the event shall conclude tomorrow with finaland valedictory function.

Among the distinguished guestspresent were president Kreeda Bharati J&K, Shiv Kumar Sharma; Incharge SAISTC Jammu, Aman Sharma; general secretary of J&K Amateur KabaddiAssociation (JKAKA), Dr Kuldeep Kumar Gupta; Director Sports Cluster Universityof Jammu (CLUJ); Dr Vinod Bakshi; member Trustee Arun Sharma Sports and SocialWelfare Trust, Ashutosh Sharma; DySP J&K Police and international handballplayer, Akshay Khajuria; Principal SRML Higher Secondary School, Dr Kishore Sharma;former secretary JKAKA, Surinder Mohan; district secretary Jammu, Sanjit Kumarand host of serving and retired officers of the J&K Sports Council andmembers of different sports associations.
