Lieutenant General (LG),Manoj Sinha shall declare open the Police Martyrs Memorial Hockey Tournament,organised by the J&K Police at K K Hakhu Stadium, here tomorrow.

The six-day long event,featuring 14 teams from with J&K and neighbouring states, shall be conducted on knockout basis.

In the opening match,Pathankot XI shall be playing against Jammu Central soon after the opening at 12 noon by the chief guest.

Prominent among other teams are Punjab Police, Punjab State Electricity Board, Shahabad Academy Haryana and Sujanpur XI besides hosts J&K Police.

Earlier, during the day,the ADGP Armed, Anand Jain supervised the preparations with last minute instructions to the heads of various committees for the conduct in the opening ceremony.

The technical penal also met in the evening with officials of Hockey J&K and team managers to finalise the match schedule and other aspects of the event.
