District Kupwara andBandipur today qualified for the semifinals of the ongoing under-17 boys footballtournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) aspart of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Khel Gaon, Nagrota, near here today.

In the first quarterfinalof the day, Kupwara defeated Baramulla 2-1 while Bandipur blanked Ganderbal 8-0.Pre-quarterfinals: District Jammu beat Rajouri 2-0; Poonch beat Kathua 2-1.

The technical penal forthe event comprised Rohit Gupta (convener), Taranpal Singh, Varinder Singh, RakeshKumar, Naveen Singh, Devinder Singh and Somander Singh.
