Vice Chancellor (VC)University of Jammu (JU), Prof Umesh Rai congratulated the sports team forexcelling in the just held Convoquer Sports Fest at IIT Jammu.
“This event not onlyshowcased their talent but also fostered teamwork and friendship amonginstitutions, promoting a culture of sportsmanship. The dedication displayed byour athletes is a reflection of our University’s commitment to excellence inSports,” said the VC.
During the interaction,Prof. Rai also announced a prize of Rs. 50,000 to the contingent as a token ofappreciation for bringing laurels to the University.
As per a handout issuedhere, JU men team remained runners-up in Athletics while women bagged thetrophy. In Badminton, both men and women secured title trophies. In Basketballtoo, title trophies in men and women clinched by JU. The JU cricket team alsowon the trophy along with Football. In volleyball took, JU bagged the titletrophies of both men and women. However, in Chess, JU women finished third. In Table tennis, the men teamremained runners-up.
“The university aims tocontinue excellence in sports and engage in more
competitions thatchallenge and inspire its athletes. “We are proud of our athletes and their achievements,”said Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, JU, Daud IqbalBaba.
