JKCA Tigers bags U-14 Boys Inter-School Cricket Trophy

: Beating Jodhamal Schoolin an easy contest by eight wickets in a low scoring title clash, the composedside of J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) Tigers lifted trophy of the first ofits kind Under-14 Boys Inter-School Cricket Tournament which was organised bythe JKCA at JP World School, here today.

Organised with an aim totap talent at the grassroots level, the event, wherein eight teams of prominentschools took part, stared on July 21.

Earlier, put into bat,Jodhamal School bowled out for a paltry total of 58 runs in 15 overs. None ofthe batters could show any application and the whole side collapsed at a meagretotal. For JKCA Tigers, the trio of Ali Bilal, Adeesh and Keshav Gupta sharedthree wickets each.

In reply, JKCA Tigers rodeon a magnificent knock of 28 runs by Chaitanya Dogra to chase the target easilyby losing two wickets.

In the valedictory functionBrig Anil Gupta, Member Administration JKCA; Mithun Manhas, Member CricketOperations and Development JKCA; Ashok Singh, former joint secretary of theJKCA and Director Sports, Cluster University Jammu, Dr Vinod Bakshi were thespecial guests. They presented the title trophies and other individual prizes.

 

Chaitanya Dogra wasadjudged as the player of the match while Saksh Gupta was declared as the bestall-rounder. Rahat Raina was adjudged as the player of the tournament and AliBilal was adjudged as the most promising player of the tournament.

Host Schools including JPWorld, KC International School and Heritage School were appreciated for theircontributions.

Earlier, Principal of JPWorld School, Aparna Kohli honoured on behalf of JP World School.

Speaking on the occasion,Brig Anil Gupta and Mithun Manhas said that this historic tournament was aimedat tapping the talent young to build bench strength for JKCA junior cricketteams.
