JKCA names squad for match against Mumbai

The Jammu and KashmirCricket Association (JKCA) has already officially unveiled its 20-member RanjiTrophy squad for the 2025–26 domestic season, reaffirming its commitment toconsistency, strategy, and player rotation as per the Board of Control forCricket in India (BCCI) guidelines.

 

As mandated, the match-daysquad will include 15 players, allowing the team management flexibility totailor selections according to pitch conditions, opposition strength, and form.

 

Brig Anil Gupta, Member AdministrationJKCA, emphasized that the process is entirely in line with BCCI’s regulationsand ensures fairness and transparency in team selection. “The 15-member squadswill be announced for each match or a set of fixtures depending on theprevailing conditions and the behavior of the pitches,” he stated, dispellingany speculation regarding changes or reduction in the overall squad.

 

For the upcominghigh-stakes encounter against Mumbai, JKCA has named a formidable 15-memberlineup blending youth and experience. The squad features top-order reliabilityand explosive middle-order depth with Shubham Khajuria, Qamran Iqbal, YawarHassan, Vivrant Sharma, Paras Dogra (captain), Abdul Samad, Musaif Aijaz, andwicketkeeper-batter Kanhaiya Wadhawan. The all-round strength is boosted bySahil Lotra and Abid Mushtaq, while the pace attack—led by Yudhvir Singh, UmranMalik, Aquib Nabi, and Umar Nazir—adds a lethal edge to JKCA’s bowling arsenal.Sunil Kumar’s inclusion reinforces the balance of the side.

 

The remaining fivetalented players—Rohit Sharma, Kawalpreet Singh, Lone Nasir Muzaffar, MujtabaYousuf, and Vanshaj Sharma—are also part of the 20-member season roster andstand ready to step in as circumstances or match conditions demand. Thisstrategic rotation policy is designed to maintain player fitness, fostercompetition for places, and build bench strength for the long domestic seasonahead.

With a fine blend ofproven performers and promising youngsters, JKCA’s Ranji squad represents bothstability and ambition.
