After almost a decade or so, the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) is all set to get a new team at the helm of affairs after the long due elections are scheduled for January 16.
The process of filing of nominations has been completed with Election Officer, A K Jyoti announcing the list validly nominated candidates after the scrutiny of such papers today.
However, the withdraw of nomination, if any, shall take place tomorrow, followed by the preparation of the final list of contesting candidates.
It was been reliably learnt that their hardly seems any opposition to the penal, which enjoys the patronage of the existing sub-committee of the JKCA.
The only ‘opposition’apprehension has also been ruled out with the cancellation of the nomination from Mehboob Iqbal led Youth Cricket Club (YCC) Bhaderwah from the draft electoral roll of the JKCA. The BCC had nominated ‘estranged’ Sub-Committee member of the JKCA, Sunil Sethi.
Besides YCC, the nomination of the Kashmir Cricket Club, Srinagar has also been rejected on similar rounds.
Now, out of 23 members, only 21 have been left to vote for the January 16 elections. In addition, two life members have also been given the voting rights for JKCA elections. They are Ajay Sharma and Parvez Rasool.
