JKAKA asks LG to rename Kabaddi Stadium after Prof Chaman Lal Gupta

Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association (JKAKA) today called on the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to urge him to rename sports stadium at MA Stadium, here in the name of Prof Chaman Lal Gupta.

The Association deputation was led by general secretary, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, who told the LG that  Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta was a prominent leader, Professor, and dedicated supporter of Kabaddi in the Region.

“His lifelong contributions to education, sports, and community upliftment inspired countless youth, making him a fitting figure to honour through this gesture,” said Dr Gupta.

The LG Manoj Sinha assured the delegation that the Association request would be examined sympathetically, a separate statement issued by the JKAKA said.

The delegation comprised grandson of Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, Aashran Mahajan; Sarwant Singh Gill, technical Director; Surinder Mohan, former general secretary and Inderjeet Sharma, Jammu district president of the Association.

The JKAKA expressed gratitude to the LG for the meeting and remains optimistic about a positive outcome of the request. A memorandum with regard to the request was also submitted by the Association.
