A 14-member J&K Weightlifting team (men and women), including two coaches, today left for participation in the National Championship to be held at Modi Nagar in Uttar Pradesh from February four to February 14.

Earlier, the team, selected by the J&K Weightlifting Association, underwent screening which was conducted by the officials of the J&K Sports Council (JKSC), led byDivisional Sports Officer (DSO) Jammu, Iqbal Singh at MA Stadium, here.

Also present were president of the Association, Harbhajan Singh and general secretary, Yudhvir Singh.

The team is accompanied by Akash Virdi and Dhan Raj Singh as coaches.

The Team (men and women): Mohammad Unzer Bhat (Junior, 79 kg), Nirbhay Pratap Singh (Senior, 79 kg), Sahil Sharma ( Junior, 88 kg), Satvik Luthra (Junior,110 kg), Misem Choudhary (Junior, 110 kg), Samiksha Dubey (Youth, 44 kg), Simran (Senior, 58 kg), Palak Manhas (Senior, 66 kg), Anya Rakwal (Junior, 77 kg),Ikam Kour (Senior, 86 kg).
