J&K Taekwondo meet concludes

The J&K UT TaekwondoChampionship, organized by the Taekwondo Association of Jammu and Kashmir(TAJK), concluded today at the Indoor Hall, Bhagwati Nagar, here.

Held under the aegis of J&KOlympic Association and India Taekwondo, the event saw participation from ninedistricts with over 150 athletes competing across various categories, a handoutissued by the TAJK claimed.

President Team Jammu, ZorawarSingh Jamwal was chief guest, who encouraged the participants asking them tostrive for excellence in sports.

Vijay Kumar Pandoh, vice presidentof Wrestling Association of J&K was guest of honour while Ritika Slathiaand Muzaffar Mir (DySP J&K Police) were among the special guests. The organizingteam comprised Quimti Lal Jain (general secretary TAJK ), Tarsem Sharma (workingpresident TAJK ), Ravinder Sharma (treasurer, TAJK) , Ajaz Rasool Mir (joint secretary,TAJK), Danish Sharma and Deepak Dogra.

Speaking to theparticipants, Zorawar Singh Jamwal emphasized the importance of perseverance,discipline, and hard work, encouraging students to embrace the values taughtthrough sports. He highlighted how Taekwondo, as a martial art, not onlystrengthens the body but also sharpens the mind and builds character.
