J&K restricts Pondicherry to 233 in Ranji

Jammu and Kashmir today restricted Pondicherry to a modest total of 233 runs on the home ground in the first innings on the opening day of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group-D match at Siechem Stadium today.

As per the reports reaching here, the duo of Sunil Kumar and Yudhvir Singh played a key role in restricting Pondicherry innings. Opting to bat after winning the toss, Pondicherry suffered early jolt when skipper Neyan Kangayan was caught behind by Kanhaiya Wadhawanon a delivery from left-arm medium-pacer, Sunil Kuar at just nine.

However, opener Ajay Rohera stood tall amid the difficult times and played a patient innings of 94 off 211 balls. JJ Yadav (33), Aman Khan (25), Paras Patnaparkhe (20), andRagavan (16) were other batsmen to score in double digit.

Sunil Kumar and Yudhvir Singh spearheaded the demolition with three wickets apiece, while left-arm spinner Vanshaj Sharma took two. Aquib Nabi and Abid Mushtaq shared apiece each.

At stumps, J&K were yet to open their innings with Sunil Kumar and Shubham Khajuria at the crease.
