The two-day 8th J&K UT Kalarippayattu Championship concluded with 200 athletes taking part in the event representing 12 districts of J&K at the JKSC Indoor Sports Complex, Bhagwati Nagar, here today.

The championship was organised by the Kalarippayattu Association of J&K. In the valedictory function, prominent sports promoter, Rajeev Sharma was the chief guest. He appreciated the organisers for promoting the Indian martial art.

Javaid Ur Rehman,Divisional Sports Officer (Central), J&K Sports Council, and Manjit Singh, chairman, Kalarippayattu J&K was guest of honour.

Among the special guests present were Ritika Slathia, Manager, JKSC; Goutam Shukla,  Abhishek Singh, T.P. Singh and Dr. Imran Khan.

Those selected players shall represent J&K at the upcoming National Kalarippayattu Championship to be held in Kerala next month.
