 
                                Jammu and Kashmir is emergingas a sports hub in India considering the international and national events beinghosted by the Union Territory on a regular basis. 
This was stated by the UnionMinister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar at the valedictory ofthe 10th All India Police Games Judo Cluster hosted by J&K Policeunder the aegis of All India Sports Control Board (AIPSCB) at Srinagar today.
“The hosting of megaevents of international and national repute in the recent past has made J&Kas a emerging hub of sports in India. The Centre is committed to prioritise developmentof modern infrastructure for sports in the UT,” said the MoS Home.
Addressing the gathering of38 contingents, representing police and para military forces of the country,the Minister said, “Sports help improve coordination among different policeforces of the country thus promote camaraderie,” adding he said, “present Governmentat the Centre working to make sports part of life for every citizen so as tobuild a healthy society.”
Chairman of the organisingcommittee, Director General Police, J&K, Nalin Prabhat complimented themedal winners and encouraged others to work hard for the next time. 
The DGP J&K handedover the AIPSCB Flag to the chief guest for further custody of Special DirectorIB and representative of (AIPSCB), Anurag Kumar. He complimented the J&KPolice for the achievements and efforts to grow further in sports amidstappreciation for the Ministry of Home Affairs for the special grant of Rs ninecrore for Civic Action Programme this year. 
Earlier, in his welcomeaddress, organising secretary, ADGP Armed J&K, Anand Jain presented adetailed report of the Judo Cluster amidst appreciation for the organisingteam, technical officials and various committees involved in the conduct.
The concluding day of the JudoCluster, J&K Police did well in Wushu, especially in men section, whereinthe Sanda team finished fourth with 13 points, including one gold and twosilver. The SSB bagged the title trophy with 31 medals while BSF (27) finishedsecond and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (21).
Similarly, in women Sandaevent, ITBP bagged the trophy with 29 points and Uttar Pradesh Police weresecond with 13 points. CRPF (10) and SSB (09) remained third and fourthrespectively. 
In Taolu, other event  of Wushu, SSB bagged both men and womentrophies with 37 and 49 points respectively. The second place in Male bagged ofCRPF (22) and ITBP finished third with 14 points. In women section, ITBP (29) remainedsecond and CRPF (20) was third.
Meanwhile, the SSB emergesas the most successful contingent with eight title trophies out of five events inmen and women sections. The J&K Police bagged the Pencak Silat men’schampionship trophy.
