J&K celebrates National Javelin Day

Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Athletics Association celebrated National Javelin Day by organizing Javelin competitions to commemorate the historic Gold Medal-winning performance of Neeraj Chopra at the Tokyo Olympics.

The event held in collaboration with the University of Jammu (JU) involving around 80 young athletes in Under-14, Under-16, Under-18, Under-20, and Open categories for both boys and girls at Athletics Arena on the JU Campus, here.

The athletes were awarded certificates of merit by Coaches, Raj Kumar (Cricket), P.D Singh (Hockey), Jai Bharat (Wrestling) and Gurucharan Singh (Athletics).

The competition conducted by the technical penal including Rakesh Singh, Parveen Singh and Gafoor Malik under the supervision of Gurucharan Singh of J&K Sports Council.

 

The Results:

GIRLS: Under-14: Karman Kour, Ist; Pari Pawar, 2nd and Asma Jaben, 3rd. Under-16: Jasmita Thakur, Ist; Aradhya Sharma, 2nd and Mavish Mirza, 3rd. Under-18:Bhumika, Ist; Akshra Parihar, 2nd; Shevita Devi, 3rd.  Under-20: Mehmooda Akhter, Ist; Afifa Tarik, 2nd.

BOYS: Under-14: Mohd.Nafiz, Ist; Sahid Khan, 2nd and Mumzil Mehndi, 3rd . Under-16:Antriksh,Ist; Dhananjay, 2nd and Shahzab Akhtar, 3rd. Under-18: Sayed Faiez, Ist; Abid Hussain, 2nd and Sarfraz Ahmed, 3rd. Under-20:Prem Manhas, Ist; Vansh, 2nd and Adil Ali, 3rd. Men Open: NIkhil Bhatia, Ist; Prabjyot Singh, 2nd and Aryan Lakhotra, 3rd.
