J&K Boxing Championship, organised by J&K Amateur Boxing Association and sponsored by J&K Sports Council, concluded here at Indoor Sports Complex, MA Stadium, here today. Around 159 boxers from 15 districts of the Union Territory took part in this three-day event. The main attraction of this tournament was national medalist, Deepak Singh Katoch and Mohd Aarif, who contested for the top honours.
In this championship, Anki tSaini was declared best boxer of the tournament while Rizwan named most promising boxer.
In the valedictory function, Legislator, Yudhvir Sethi was chief guest, who felicitated the medal winners and those promising boxers. He promised development of the boxing arena on modern lines with added facilities.
Dr Ashutosh Sharma, former president J&K Olympic Association was also present. The technical penal included Sandeep Singh Chib, Sajad Pathan, Akash Baigra, Avinash Kumar, Naresh Kumar, Hardesh Kumar, Anshuman Khajuria, Rahul Kumar, Aman Sangral, Rajneesh Kumar, Gautam Kumar and Himanshu Shekhar.
