Zone Jammu and Zone Satwari emerged winner in under-14 and under-17 categories in the inter-zone district level boys Basketball tournament which was organized by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at MA Stadium, here today.

In the under-14 group, Jammu defeated Zone Bhalwal 28-09 whereas in the under-17 category, Satwari outplayed Zone Jammu 31-18.

The district level activities are being organized under the guidance of district youth services and sports Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma.

Around 300 students participated in this event with teams drawn from different zones of the district, a handout issued here today informed.

The winners and runners up teams were later felicitated by the district officer with title trophies.

The technical penal comprised Rajesh Bandral, Amit Kalsi, Vaneet Pangotra and Manjeet Kour.

The Results: Semifinals: Under-14: Zone Bhalwal beat Zone Gandhi Nagar 12-11; Zone Jammu beat Zone Satwari 21-08. Under-17: Zone Jammu beat Zone Gandhinagar 21-09; Zone Satwari beat Zone Bhalwal 22-05.
