Being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Police under Civic Action Programme (CAP), the annual event of Jammu Marathon shall take place on December 28.
The event shall be held across 10 different categories with winners getting prize money worth Rs 4.5lakh.
Earlier, during the day, a preparatory meeting of the organising committee with regard to the event took place under the chairmanship of ADGP (Armed), Anand Jain at Police Headquarters,here.
During the meeting, the ADGP reviewed the arrangements and issued necessary instructions to the officers concerned to ensure the efficient, secure, and successful conduct of the event.
At the outset, DySP Kuldeep Handoo, Sports Officer APHQ, delivered a comprehensive‘Power Point’ presentation, highlighting various preparedness measures,logistic framework, and the proposed activity schedule for the event.
The Jammu Marathon-2025 is open to participants from diverse sections of society,including students from educational institutions across the region in various categories.
After the conclusion of the event, a prize distribution ceremony will take place at Gulshan Ground, Jammu. This will be followed by raffle draw of chest numbers,where the first, second and third place winners will receive Cycles.
Eight Registration Counters have been setup (six in Jammu and two in Srinagar) for participants who wish to register for the event.
The meeting among others was attended by Vinod Kumar, DIG IR Jammu; Sameer Sharma, DIGAP Jammu; Hareesh HP, AIG Welfare PHQ J&K; Zahid Naseem Manhas, CO SDRF 2ndBn; Dalip Kumar, SSP, Staff Officer to ADGP Armed J&K, Rajinder Singh, SSPAPCR Jammu, Commandants of Jammu-based Battalions; Dr. Rewa Gaind, Incharge Medical Superintendent, Police Hospital Jammu.
Participation Categories: of 21 km Half Marathon (Men); 10 km Run (Boys U-18 years); 10 km Run (Girls Above 18 years); 10 km Run (Junior Girls U-18 years); 10 km Run(Junior Boys U-17 years); 10 km Run (Veteran Women Above 45 years); 10 km Run(Veteran Men Above 45 years); 5 km Run (Sub-Junior Boys U-14 years); 4 km Run(Sub-Junior Girls U-14 years); 2 km Senior Citizens, Men, Women and Children.
