: Jammu Zone and Khour Zone bagged the under-17 andunder-14 titles respectively in the inter-zone Jammu district Kabaddi tournament which was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at MA Stadium, here today.

The under-17 girls trophy went to Jammu Zone beating Gandhi Nagar zone 39-26. Third place bagged by Akhnoor Zone beating Zone Bhalwal 41-21. Semifinals: Jammu beat Akhnoor zone by 14 (39-25) points; Gandhi Nagar zone beat Bhalwal zone by 16 (45-29) points. Quarterfinals: Jammu zone beat Satwari zone by 23 (33-10) points; Gandhi Nagar zone beat Arnia zone by 09(24-15) points; Akhnoor zone beat Marh zone by 10 (31-21) points; Bhalwal zone beat Choki Choura zone by 01 (32-31) point.

In the under-14 girls final, Khour Zone outplayed Zone Choki Choura 42-20. Third place went to Jammu zone beating Gandhi Nagar zone in the tough hardliner. Semifinals: Khour zone bt Jammu zone 30-28 points; ChokiChoura zone bt Gandhi Nagar zone 42-33 points. Quarterfinals: Jammu beat Satwari zone 25-16 points; Gandhi Nagar zone beat Miran Sahib zone 25-18 points; Khour zone beat Akhnoor zone 34-26 points; Choki Choura zone beat Bhalwal zone 35-12points.

The title winners felicitated by the district (DYSS) officer Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma in the presence of other senior officers. The finals officiated by the technical penal including Bandhana Sanjit, Vishal Jamwal, and Sunny.

CRICKET: Meanwhile, Miran Sahib Zone today qualified forthe final of the under-17 boys cricket tournament underway at Khel Gaon Nagrota.  In the semifinal, Miran Sahib defeated Dansal Zone by six wickets. Batting first, after winning the toss, Dansal made 71 runs in allotted 15 overs. Sumit played fine innings of 22 runs while Sehaj contributed 19. Dishant  and Mohd. Ayan took three wickets each  while

Harshdeep bagged two.

In reply, Miran Sahib chased the target for the loss of fourwickets. Dishant and Adarsh were main scorers with 16 and 11 runs respectively.Sehaj took three wickets for Dansal Zone.
