The final of the maiden WomenDistrict Hockey Championship, organised by Hockey Jammu and Kashmir shall beplayed tomorrow at K K Hakhu Stadium, here.

The teams qualifying for the title clash are SaharaHockey Club and Khelo India Hockey Club-B. The final shall be played at 1.30 pmat the same venue.

Earlier, in the semifinals, played today SaharaHockey  Club defeated Jaksh Hockey Club 7-0.Maniksha scored four goals while Monika, Shivani and Aruhi added one each. Thesecond semifinal won by Khelo India B beating Khelo India A team by a similarmargin of 7-0. Hema played fine game netting three goals.

In the women’s semifinals, prominent sports promoterand former Member J&K  SportsCouncil, Rajeev Sharma was the chief guest, who interacted with the teams.

Speaking to the teams and members of the HockeyJ&K, Rajeev assured the women hockey players all possible help in pursuingtheir career in sports. He also appreciated the Hockey J&K move to holdwomen events at the district level.

Minakshi and Sarabjeet Kour were the umpires in today’smatches while Anu Sharma, Anjali Thakur, Jagjit Singh and Sahil were the technicalofficials.
