International Delhi PublicSchool (IDPS) Akhnoor bagged overall trophy in two-day 14th District Jammu RopeSkipping Championship held under the banner of Rope Skipping Association ofJ&K at KC International School (KCIS), here today.

Vishwa Bharti Schoolclaimed overall runners-up trophy while third place went to Carmel ConventSchool, Jammu. In total, about 300 participants in different age groups of boysand girls contested for the top honours.

State Project ManagerJ&K Rural Livelihood Mission (JKRLM), Anissa Nabi was the chief guest, whofelicitated the winners. Among other special guests were Dr KC Singh Mehta,Principal of IDPS Akhnoor; Dr Dheeraj Sharma, MD IDPS Akhnoor; Dr Pramod KumarSrivastava, Principal of Model Academy; Chaitanya Chowdhary, president of KCIS andAnupama Sinha, Principal of KCIS.

 Also present were Neetu Bali (Founder and CEOof Sunder Gems and Jewels; Tarsem Sharma, founder and CEO of Rope SkippingJ&K; Rajesh Dhar and Kirti Dhar.

Danish Sharma was organisingsecretary, who was coordinated by Babita Bhau, Sports Coordinator of KCIS.

Hosts International DelhiPublic School (IDPS), Ghou Manhasan bagged overall trophy in the 16th District Jammu Rope Skipping Championship which was organized by Rope Skipping Association of J&K involving around 450 athletes from 25 schools across Jammu district.

Vishwa Bharti School secured the second position, followed by Jodhamal Public School at third place. The two-day championship provided a competitive platform for young athletes to showcase their talent while promoting sportsmanship, fitness, discipline and a healthy competitive spirit among school students.

The championship witnessed participation from prominent schools including IDPS Jammu, DPS Jammu, Cambridge School, Jammu Sanskriti, Jodhamal Public School, IDPS Akhnoor, Heaven Kingdom High School, GD Goenka Public School Akhnoor, JK Public School, ShangrillaPublic School , APS BD Bari, Major Institute of Education , SNS Vidya Mandir, KC Gurukul School and other institutions.

In the closing ceremony Surender Kumar Bhagat, MLA Marh was chief guest. Manjit Singh, chairman, Kalarippayattu Association of J&K and Varuneshwar Singh, SHO Domana, attended as guests of honour.

The ceremony was also attended by Siya Singh, Managing Director, IDPS Ghou Manhasan; Sahrish Ismaily, Principal, IDPS Ghou Manhasan; Mubeen Butt, Vice Principal, IDPS Ghou Manhasan;Shikha Choudhary, School Manager; Danish Sharma, working secretary, RSAJK; and Rudrakshit Gupta, technical director, RSAJK.

After two days of intense competition, IDPS Akhnoor emerged as the Overall Champion, securing the coveted first position.
