Hockey Jammu and Kashmir,a function held at K K Hakhu Stadium, here felicitated players, coaches andofficials for recent achievements at the National stage.

In this function, players,the coaches and managers accompanying the teams were honoured for their effortsin improved performance in different age group events in the ongoing season.

Interacting with theplayers and their officials, Rajeev Sharma, patron-in chief of Hockey J&Kasked them to work hard and excel thereby earn a name for themselves and theAssociation.

Divisional Sports Officer ofJ&K Sports Council, Bashir Ahmad Bakshi, who was also present, extendedbest wishes for the teams and assured of all possible support in future endeavors.

Dr. Taran Singh, generalsecretary of Hockey J&K while speaking highlighted the long list of achievementsin a short span of time with teams elevating from Category C to Category B. Heinformed that it was after the long gap of three years that J&K UT HockeyChampionship was organized by the present body amidst efforts to revive theprominent hockey clubs of J&K.

Tejinder Singh, secretary alsospoke on the occasion expressing his view point.

Earlier, Baljeet Kour and Gargi,both coaches and manager, Sonia were honoured for their role in improved  show in the 16th Hockey India Junior WomenHockey Championship 2026 played at Pune, wherein the team topped the group.

Jagjeet Singh, Coach andTaranjit Singh manager for the performance in 16th Hockey India Junior menHockey Championship 2026 played at Coimbatore. Also felicitated were MinakshiKhajuria, coach and Robin Singh, manager for the performance in 16th HockeyIndia sub Junior Women Hockey Championship 2026 at Ranchi for topping the pool.

Among other prominent presentwere Ajay Gupta, Incharge Manager KK Hakku Stadium; Anil Sharma, InchargeManager, Green Fields; Manjeet Singh, Janak Singh, Beant Singh, Rajinder Singh,Charanjeet Singh Sittu, Robin Singh and Anjali Thakur, coach Khelo Indiacenter.
