The domestic annual calendar of activities of the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) started today at district Udhampur with first such inter-school meet in Zone Jib.
The competition in the two age groups of under-14 and under-17 boys started today in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Cricket, Chess, Table Tennis, Wrestling, and Yoga under the supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer Jib, Jyoti Rani Gupta.
Being held at Indoor Hall, Subash Stadium, Udhampur, the competition declared open by Suraj Bhan Singh, Manager J&K Sports Council Udhampur.
Technical experts, led by Ajit Singh Bandral and Sanjay Sharma (PEMs, ZPEO Office Zone Jib) conduced the technical aspects of the competition.
Among others who were present were Vinod Khajuria, Rakesh Modi, Pushap Sharma, Darshan Singh, Ajay Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Shashi Bala (all PEM).

TABLE TENNIS: Under 14: Gitansh Thakur, APS Udhampur, Ist. Under-17: Ryan Sharma, APS Udhampur, Ist. KABADDI: Under 14: GHS Thanoa, Ist and GHS Bali, 2nd.
