Qualified and experienced volleyball coach, Naresh Kumar Sharma, who presently serves as Physical Education Teacher (PET), has been appointed coach of the Academy of Excellence, established by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at the Khel Gaon in Nagrota, near here.

Naresh, known for his dedication to the game of Volleyball all these years, has represented Jammu and Kashmir in several Senior and Junior National Volleyball Championships as captain and a key player.

Besides attended the India under-19 National coaching camp at Ludhiana in Punjab, Naresh was part of the team that won J&K State Volleyball Championship four times.

In addition to Diploma in Sports from NSNIS Patiala with grade-A, Naresh has done FIVB level-I and level-2 international coaching course.

Naresh was Head Coach of J&K boys team that won historic Gold in the 7th Khelo India Youth Games 2025.  He was head coach of the J&K junior boys team, which secured Bronze in the 65th Junior National Volleyball Championship.

As head coach, he guided J&K Under-17 boys team to Bronze Medal in the 67th School Games Federation of India (SGFI) National Championship.
