Dushyant appointed PMC Officer for Asian Games

Veteran wrestler and senior officer of the J&K Police, Dushyant Sharma (SSP) has been assigned the important responsibility with Indian contingent heading for the 20thAsian Games at Aichi-Nagoya in Japan.

Dushyant has been appointed Prevention of Manipulation of Competitions (PMC) Officer by the Union Ministry of Sports on the recommendations of the Indian Olympic Association(IOA).

As PMC Officer, Dushyant will promote integrity, fair play and clean sport thereby create awareness among athletes as also the officials about growing trends of competition manipulation, match-fixing and suspicious approaches in the mega events.

On being contacted, Dushyant said, “Our aim is not only to win medals but also to ensure that every Indian athlete competes with integrity, fair play and respect for the rules.”

Dushyant Sharma has already served as Chef de Mission at the 13th South Asian Games 2019 and participated in the IOC Observer Programme during the Paris Olympics 2024.

The appointment is a matter of pride for J&K Police and an opportunity to contribute to India’s efforts towards promoting clean, fair and credible international sport.
