Former Sadr-i-Riyasat andeminent statesman, Dr. Karan Singh today felicitated young athlete, Mohsin Aliand his coach, Bilquis Mir, for securing a gold medal at the Khelo India WaterSports event which held in Srinagar August last.

The felicitation ceremonywas also attended by Martand Singh, Trustee of the Hari Tara Charitable Trustand grandson of Dr. Karan Singh.

Dr Karan Singh congratulatedMohsin on his outstanding performance, particularly against strong contendersfrom Madhya Pradesh and Punjab. He also commended Bilquis Mir for her dedicatedcoaching and long-standing commitment to nurturing Mohsin’s talent.

Bilquis expressed herheartfelt gratitude to Dr. Karan Singh and Martand Singh for this honour andconveyed her hope that this recognition would inspire Mohsin and other athletesto continue pursuing their dreams.

The two athletes alsoshared insights into the development of sports in Jammu and Kashmir under the PrimeMinister’s Khelo India Scheme, along with other related initiatives.

It is noteworthy thatPrime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated and applauded Mohsin and coachBilquis Mir in his recent “Mann Ki Baat” series, during which heinteracted with Mohsin and lauded his achievement in the Khelo India Water SportsFestival.
