Kirat Choudhary made it a double title win in the three-day Martyrs Memorial Badminton Tournament, which was organized by High Toss Sports Club at Champions Arena Badminton Hall, Chowadi in the city outskirts, here.
Kirat won both under-13 and under-17 girls singles titles. In under-13 category, Kiran defeated equally good Akshini Manhas 2-1. The third place went to Aarya Mahajan. Similarly, inunder-17 final, Kirat defeated Bhavya Wazir while third place bagged by Akshini Manhas.
The boys under-17 title went to Gopesh Singh, who beat Vivaan Chib in the final. Vansh Dahiya finished third. In under-13 boys final, Mehrab trounced Ayaansh Malhotra while Satvik Singh remained third.
The technical penal comprised Bhaktawar Singh, Sunil Bakshi, Arjun Sharma and Vikash Kumar.
To encourage young talent, consolation prizes given away to Vidansh Bakshi, Abhyansh, Ridhansh, Noor, Manveer, Mysa, Aaryahi, Gurmehar, Shourya, Mayra, Dharvya, Rohini, Chahat, Aavyaan Gupta, Kanishk, Shivam Gupta and Kanishk.
In the finals and valedictory function, Regional Director IGNOU, Sandeep Gupta was chief guest, who presented title trophies and cash prizes to the position holders. Vinay Saraf and Kamal Sharma were guests of honour.
Among other prominent present were Romesh Raina, PD Singh, Ashok Singh, Rishi Khurana, Sanya Bakshi, Gurvinder Singh, Makrand Mehta and Vasu Bhagat.
