Coaching serves as the vital spark that reignites revival precisely when performance begins to falter, emphasized Dr. Tej Kaul, the renowned senior cricket coach and former trainer and physiotherapist for the Indian national cricket team.
Speaking on the sidelines of his visit to the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) headquarters here, Dr. Kaul underscored the pivotal role of expert guidance in sustaining excellence.
"You need coaching when performance is on the decline," he asserted, drawing from his vast experience mentoring elite athletes.
Dr. Kaul, a former Jammu and Kashmir wicketkeeper who later served as a senior coach at the Sports Authority of India (SAI), hailed JKCA's historic triumph as the Ranji Trophy champions earlier this year.
"JKCA has set an unmatched benchmark for budding cricketers across the nation by scripting this remarkable history," he said, praising the association's role in nurturing talent from the region.
Urging strategic foresight, the veteran coach advised JKCA to leverage the momentum of its dominant senior team.
"Now is the time to capitalize on this success and focus relentlessly on clinching the forthcoming Irani Trophy, slated for September 2026," he added, envisioning a continued ascent for J&K cricket.
Dr. Kaul's optimism peaked when discussing Mithun Manhas's elevation to the presidency of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
"This is a monumental moment for J&K—a golden era unfolding. JKCA must encash this opportunity fully. J&K cricket is unequivocally on the rise," he declared, inspiring stakeholders to seize the moment for sustained glory.
Dr. Kaul's visit underscores JKCA's growing stature as a powerhouse in Indian cricket, blending grassroots development with high-stakes ambition.
