The All India ChessFederation (AICF), in collaboration with the All J&K Chess Association,successfully conducted a two-day Senior Arbiter Seminar at Hotel Nek, here.
The program concluded withparticipants from different parts of the country appearing in the examinationon the final day.
International Arbiter, NitinShenvi from Maharashtra was the resource person in this seminar, who gaveinsight into latest FIDE laws of chess to participants from six differentstates.
The Senior Arbiter Seminar,one of the prestigious initiatives of AICF, is aimed at training and certifyingarbiters who will officiate in state/UT and national events.
During the sessions,participants were equipped with knowledge of tournament rules, technicalregulations and management skills in line with updated FIDE norms.
“The event marks animportant milestone in expanding the arbiter base across India, particularly inJammu and Kashmir, where chess is steadily growing. Now, passed candidates willbe eligible to officiate in India level events. ,” said president of theAssociation, Baldev Raj.
Organizers expressedgratitude to AICF for its support and congratulated participants for theirdedication to the sport.
Earlier, the course wasdeclared open by joint secretary of AICF, Atul Kumar Gupta.
